Special technical specifications for designing have been developed at the V.A. Kucherenko ISNIISK; the expert evaluation of the stage «P» designs for construction of sports facilities for the Winter Olympic Games of 2014 in the city of Sochi has been made there also. The article presents main results of analyzing of bearing structures for the Central Stadium for 40 thousand seats and the Great Ice Arena for ice hockey for 12 thousand seats.

Determination of an average constituent of a wind loading on advertising structures (AS) with numerical and experimental methods is considered. Numerical methods are analyzed for AS in the form of an advertising board placed in an open space and in the urban environment. Experimental studies have been conducted in the wind-tunnel with a model as well as under natural conditions (in the urban environment) with the existing AS. The most unfavourable directions of wind loading as well as location of AS in the urban environment have been determined.

A non-linear deformation model for calculation of strength of normal sections of off-center-compressed pipe-concrete elements is proposed. The model takes into account the joint work of a concrete core under triaxial compression and an external steel casing. Calculation of the strength of pipe-concrete elements is made with the help of a computer program according to reduced algorithm.

A new type of high efficient steel structures for frameless quick-constructed buildings offered by the Co. (the city of Lipetsk) at the Russian market is considered. Studies conducted by specialists of the V. A. Kucherenko TSNIISK in the course of elaboration of the organization standard for buildings of frameless type are described. Features of operation of the design elements and the building as a uniform system are considered. Issues of further improvement and development of large-span frameless buildings of this type are touched upon.

Mathematical description of hydrodynamic two-component flow consisting of hot liquid and hard particles moving inside the elements of a swirler of a water meter of a building heating system are presented. Behavior of main characteristics of a flow whirling, streams whirled along the flow length and along the section, is considered. Experimental data received confirm the dependence of the mathematical model developed on interaction of speeds and pressure fields.
