Abstract. Currently, information modeling in construction is successfully used in Russia and is not inferior to international standards. It is used not only for design, but also for construction process management (4D), cost estimation (5D), collision resolution, and construction supervision. However, even with the active use of BIM technologies, the direct execution of design tasks is still left to the individual. Designers handle routine operations, make design decisions, and coordinate the entire process, which preserves the risk of errors. In the context of the introduction of new technologies, robotic design represents the next stage of development. The article discusses modern approaches to robotic design in construction, emphasizes the importance of fully automating the process of creating BIM models and project documentation. The main stages of robotic design are given, and the advantages of this technology are noted. The limitations of robotic design are shown. In conclusion, attention is focused on the potential of using robotic design to optimize the financial performance of projects and the prospects for its further development in the construction industry.
