Abstract. Ceramic honeycomb blocks of a new generation with multiple voids and thin bridges, with increased porosity and good vapor permeability have appeared in Russia. Ceramic honeycomb blocks perform shielding and thermal insulation functions, having a much higher compressive strength than traditional thermal insulators. Ceramic blocks are used in low-rise construction and to fill the monolithic frame of buildings. According to calculations, the ceramic honeycomb unit loses 26,4 % of the heat from all wall losses due to infrared radiation in winter. Calculations show that coating the surface of voids with aluminum powder paint reduces heat loss from infrared radiation by up to 1 %. This innovation will make it possible to obtain a ceramic block with a thermal conductivity coefficient 2 times greater than that of expanded polystyrene. The ceramic block does not burn and does not poison people with extremely toxic smoke.
