Abstract. The development of calculation methods for reinforced concrete structures is impossible without special experimental studies that make it possible to obtain valid models of how materials work under various influences. One of the most difficult and time-consuming experimental tasks is to evaluate the long-term strength and ultimate deformability of concrete. Numerous experimental studies using a single methodology are needed to develop dependencies linking long-term strength and extreme deformability. The second task under consideration is to obtain long-term complete deformation diagrams, thanks to which it is possible to evaluate the stress-strain state of individual zones of structures, taking into account the loading regime and creep deformations for different stress intensities. The method of such studies is similar to the method for short-term loading, which has proven itself well and allowed us to develop equations for calculating the stress-strain state. The third task is devoted to regulating the deformative properties of concrete, when it becomes necessary to increase or decrease the rigidity of the structure, and therefore the ability to adjust the modulus of deformation, shrinkage and creep of concrete. The article highlights a number of such possibilities. The necessity of conducting research on the search for effective additives capable of regulating the deformation properties of concrete in a given range is shown.
