Abstract. The actual operation of a monolithic reinforced concrete girderless ceiling is analyzed. The study was carried out as part of engineering surveys at the constructed facility. The results of a visual and instrumental examination of sections of an interstory floor with defects developed along its lower surface are presented. At the examination stage, a significant development of defects in the form of cracks in the area of the largest deflections of the structure was established. Further research was carried out numerically using a software package in linear and nonlinear formulations. The results obtained are compared with the requirements of Russian and foreign regulatory documents, and specific recommendations for clarifying the design algorithms of the structure in question are indicated. It is established that for flexible elements it is necessary to assign an adequate design scheme of a plate with a hinged support to the reserve of structural rigidity or elastic sealing of real stiffness, while solving additional tasks to determine the actual stiffness parameters of the interface. In order to avoid defects and damage to self-supporting vertical structures, the maximum deflections of monolithic reinforced concrete slabs should be assigned taking into account the analysis of the stress-strain state of the enclosing structures based on them.
