Abstract. The article describes the research work carried out by specialists of the Research and Design Ñenter "Ñity Development" over the past 20 years for the construction complex of Moscow and implemented in practice. A special feature of these studies was the search for solutions in the field of urban development at the intersection of sciences, scrupulous preparation of initial information, and the creation of convenient algorithms or action programs for users. Nine examples of such studies are given, including engineering analysis, planning of building engineering support, development and implementation of network planning and management, from cartography to geo-information systems and their use when organizing urban development processes, development of state programs of the city of Moscow, interconnection of industry programs and trends in urban development, multiplicative effects of construction, analysis of real urban development processes by economic parameters, and organizational support for building renovation. The considered examples have shown that complex research works at the intersection of specialties are becoming increasingly important and in demand, when the process of integration and interpenetration of various scientific specialties is taking place in parallel. And this is what makes it possible to most effectively solve current citywide problems of urban development.
Key words: integration of knowledge, urban development, planning of building engineering support, network planning and management, geo-information systems, state programs, interconnection of industry programs, multiplicative effects of construction, building renovation.
