Abstract. There are presented the results of the survey of building structures and ground bases of the monument of architecture Melnikov`s house in Moscow, 2006. Peculiarities of design solutions and technical condition of all the major elements and supporting structures and buildings in general. It is noticed, that the existing defects and damage to the structures of the building are due to a long period of it`s exploitation, failure to timely repair work, structural features of the building, the support of foundations on bulk soils, also general deformations of soil arrays at the location of the building. It is concluded that the general technical condition of the building, while surveying, is operational for the conditions of it`s operation as a residential building of that time. However, existing defects are reducing performance, appearance and creating favorable conditions for further degradation of the building. In addition, the constructive solution of the examined building does not provide for it`s operation under the influence of loads, that may occur in emergency situations in the danger karst zone, and also during excursions without limiting the loads on the floors. So, for this reason, for ensuring the possibility of further normal operation of the building, it is recommended to carry out it`s major repairs. Necessary measures of repairing and strengthening the structures of the building for ensuring normal operation of the house on the basis of surveys, which were conducted in 2006, but have not been implemented yet.
