    On the basis of the analysis of existing normative documents the issue of interaction of the forms of town-planning and land use organization of the territories of settlements is considered. It is proposed to establish the criterion of the unification of land plots of various purposes into the neighborhoods, territorial and functional areas with due regard for parameters of development of the basic and additional functions.

    Environmental monitoring carried out in Moscow has revealed small architectural objects influencing on the quality of urban environment. They are defined as a multiple class of structures of support of underground networks and spaces. This class includes ventilation installations for underground collectors, subway structures, underground spaces, engineering pavilions for transforming substations and central heating stations.

  • Systems of Approximating Functions at Various Ways of Fastening of a Shell's Contour

    When solving the tasks of shells stability on the basis of the Ritz method it is necessary to specify the approximating functions meeting the key edge conditions. At the complex type of the shell fastening the difficulty arises in the selection of approximating functions. The article contains a method of selection of approximating functions in the event of partial pinching of the contour, non-rectilinear boundary of the contour, different fastening at opposite borders of the contour.

  • Determination of Physical-Mechanical Characteristics of Elements of a Sandwich Panel with a Core of Basalt Wool

    Results of the investigation of physical and mechanical properties of sandwich panel elements (mineral wool slabs, steel cladding) are presented. The properties of heat insulation for compression, tension and shear have been obtained. On the basis of kinetic concept of destruction of a solid body the lifetime of a glued connection and a mineral wool slab depending on the temperature has been defined.

  • The Use of Analytical Methods for Forming and Cutting of Linear Elements of Tent Structures

    Original algorithms of the construction of mathematical models of surfaces and acquisition of scans are offered. The application of the described algorithms for the simulation of a tent design of an inclined cover and obtaining the patterns of its elements, as well as the use of application packages for visualization of mathematical models described are illustrated.

    Results of the experimental simulation study of corrugated metal culverts with a smooth tray in the bottom part are considered. The data on hydraulic resistances at free-flow and pressure flow in corrugated pipes necessary for calculation and making it possible to specify the existing recommendations have been obtained.

    Actual issues of the timeliness of construction of objects are considered. The methods of calculation of the sanctions that take into account the risk of delayed execution of works, taking into account the time for assessing the costs of a customer have been developed. The algorithms and programs developed in the electronic planning media Ms Project make it possible to use in practice the methods of calculating sanctions in the event of disruption of the construction period.

    Modern domestic automated welding complexes for production of reinforcing meshes on the basis of a multi-point welding machine MTM-160 recommended for use at factories for the production of precast concrete are considered. The analysis of economic efficiency of using the automatic front feeder at welding machines for making meshes of efficient reinforcement is made.

  • Heat-Resistant Concretes - High-Efficient Materials for Industrialization of Heat Insulation Works

    The necessity to increase the number and to expand the assortment of high-performance industrial heat-resistant and refractory materials under conditions of industrial production of Russia is considered. Advantages of heat-resistant and refractory concretes as a material ensuring further industrialization of the heat insulation works are noted. Now in the world practice the production of heat-resistant concrete in the form of plastic or semi-dry masses and blocks is about 40-50% of the total number of refractory materials.

  • On Efficiency of the Use of Spatial Foundation Platforms, Especially on Soft Soils

    Data on the effective use of spatial foundation platforms (SFP) which make it possible to use the natural bearing properties of soft soils and do not require special measures for their strengthening are given. SFP have increased rigidity, a large distribution capacity and heat insulation, combine a number of load-bearing and operational functions. SFP don't violate the natural underground hydrogeological regime and preserve the environment. The placement of a sliding layer between SFP and the foundation ensures the seismic protection of the building together with SFP.

    A comparative analysis of the results of calculation of beams with the destruction of oblique section using the software packages Abaqus and Ansys with the experimental data of the author is carried out. The main similarities and differences between the data of software packages in respect to the calculation of reinforced concrete constructions are considered.

  • About What We Can Expect from the Next Earthquake in Russia

    The causes and mechanisms of the collapse of houses of 111 series in 1988 as a result of the Spitak earthquake are analyzed. The shortcomings of the requirements of normative documents on seismic construction both before their actualization and after it are considered. Advantages of the use of the Russian system of tube-reinforced concrete (reinforced concrete) precast seismic isolating supports in comparison with the application of foreign rubber-metal seismic isolating supports are listed.

    New opportunities of geophysics for the solution of problem of preservation of architectural monuments and other buildings under the conditions of the modern city are revealed. The new methodology of geophysical research, which makes it possible to study the influence of active geological processes on buildings taking into account the variability of geophysical fields in time and take, in proper time, corrective measures aimed at elimination of possible negative consequences connected with them is stated.

  • On Assessment of Conformity and Operational Readiness of Large-Scale Construction Projects

    The classification of large-scale construction projects, the methodology of assessment of the conformity of the constructed parts of these objects to technical regulations and project documentation are offered. Ratios of the volumes of works on the levels of operational readiness of objects calculated on the basis of the integral criteria proposed by the author have been determined. The implementation of complexes of works after the achievement of each level of operational readiness is modelled by the target system of organizational-technological documentation.

    Town-planning decisions developed and realized in the city of Saigon of the colonial period, which is characterized by an organic transformation of western architectural and urban forms under the conditions of tropical climate of Vietnam are considered. The influence of these decisions on the practice of town planning and construction of the contemporary Saigon, in particular from the point of view of ecology, is noted.
